The Long Beach Sharks are seeking good homes to house Sharks players for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Players in the NA3HL come from all over of the country and around the globe. Host families provide a place for Sharks players to live during the season. Billets invite these players into their homes to be a part of their family for seven months out of the year. They are not tenants, but a part of your family. The unique bond your family will form with the player(s) you host last a lifetime, as it is not uncommon for players to keep in close contact with their former billet families.
It is required that the billet families provide:
1. A family atmosphere while players live away from home.
2. A separate bedroom for the player(s), to include bed and linens.
3. Internet access during the day and evening.
4. Cooked meal for dinner and make available healthy food for breakfast and lunch (players may make their own breakfasts/lunches).
Housing families are compensated with a monthly stipend of $550 per player to help defray costs. Sharks players generally report to Long Island on Labor Day weekend and stay until the end of the season in mid-late March. While here, the players must adhere to a strict set of rules which are observed at the rink, at home and in the community. Family / house rules are also part of the guidelines for the players.
