The Long Beach Sharks took to the road on Sunday night to take part in the East Division Showcase at St. Anselm College to take on the Northeast Generals.
The Sharks once again came out fast and opened the game’s scoring with an all-around hard-working shift capped off by Ross Temple scoring with assists to Wyatt Strahan and Ryan Long. The Generals were able to tie the game on the power play and then took the lead on a second power play in the first period in an unevenly called game by the officials. The Sharks once again came out strong in the second period and Michal Stojka scored a one-timer off a nice pass by Alec Dahlvang and Jay Montgomery. That was followed up by a great goal off of a heavy forecheck where Mason Jackson scored his 13th of the season assisted by Alec Dahlvang and Michal Stojka. The game remained 3-2 into the final minute of the third where a Sharks player took a high stick to the face that wasn’t called and he laid on the ice injured while the Generals scored on a now 6-on-4 advantage tying the game at 3-3. The Sharks had several good attempts in overtime but eventually fell to the Generals after they scored in the 3-on-3 overtime session.
The Sharks are off for Thanksgiving break but come back home December 7-8 to take on the Maine Nordiques in a big weekend series. Please come to watch high-level junior hockey and support your Sharks junior team. All games can also be seen on NAHL TV.
