The Long Beach Sharks lost a 3-2 heartbreaker in OT on Saturday versus the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. The game was back and forth for the full 60 minutes and despite several grade-A scoring chances, the Sharks were unable to come up with what would have been the winning goal late in the third period and OT. Captain, Sam O’Neil scored both goals for the Sharks while Michal Stojka had 2 assists. Turner England had a strong game in net.
Sunday afternoon’s rematch was very much the same. Both teams played hard and generated some good offensive chances and both goalies had a solid performance between the pipes. The Sharks could only get one past the Mountain Kings’ netminders, a power play goal by TJ Lotz. Kameron Ragon had an impressive showing in net stopping 45 shots.
The Sharks September homestand comes to an end as they hit the road next weekend. They are heading up to New Hampshire for a 2 game series this Friday, 10/4, and Saturday, 10/5. Tune into NAHL TV to catch the live action.
