On Saturday, the Sharks lost a heartbreaker 1-0 in overtime. The Sharks played a great game led by Turner England in net. Unfortunately, they were unable to get one past the Generals goalie who had a standout performance as well. The Generals capitalized with a good individual effort in OT to take game 1. Saturday’s game marked Sam O’Neil’s 100th game in the NA3HL and with the Long Beach Sharks! Congratulations to Sam for his hard work and dedication as a Shark!
Sunday, the Sharks fell 3-2 despite playing the best 60-minute game of the season. Michal Stojka had a breakout game with a goal and an assist. Alec Dahlvang scored the second Sharks goal to give the Sharks a 2-1 lead going into the third period. The Sharks had several quality chances to extend the lead but weren’t able to cash in. The Generals tied the game on a deflection and then took the lead later in the period to secure the win.
Despite only coming away with one point in the standing this weekend, the team had a strong performance in both games and will get back to work in practice this week as they prepare to host NJ Titans on Saturday, October 19th at 6:30pm. Sunday, October 20th they host the Norwich Sea Captains with a 2:30pm pick drop. Come support the team and take in some great junior hockey in Long Beach or on NAHL TV.
