The Long Beach Sharks took 3 out of 4 points this weekend in their home-and-home weekend series with Norwich Sea Captains.
The Sharks headed up to Norwich for a matinee meeting on Friday afternoon. Long Beach started fast with Devon Fay lighting the lamp just 22 seconds into the game. Alec Dahlvang scored the second goal of the game with a great setup by Michal Stojka and Mason Jackson. That same line tallied again on another great effort with Mason Jackson finishing off a great play. That was all the offense goalie Kameron Ragon needed as he had a huge game in net for his first victory of the season.
The two teams met again Saturday night in Long Beach, and it was a defensive battle all game long. JD DiTimmaso finally broke things open with a power-play goal halfway through the third period. Norwich pulled its goalie, and with 3 seconds left, it managed to tie it up and force overtime. Norwich capitalized in overtime to secure the win.
The Sharks had a great weekend and played the best hockey of the season to date.
Sharks are back in action on Wednesday taking in the New Jersey Titans. Puck drop is at 1:00pm in Middletown. Tune in on NAHL TV to catch all the action.
